Francisco Javier “Fran” Borquez

Francisco Javier “Fran” Borquez, 29, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018, in Elizabethton. Francisco was born in Valparaiso, Chile to Francisco E. Borquez of Johnson City and Marcela P. Cortez of Elizabethton.
Francisco worked as an independent contractor in the construction field. He was very passionate about eating healthy and staying active. Francisco’s greatest joy was his daughters and he loved being with them, laughing and being “silly” (as Finley would say). His passion was to be outdoors, especially snowboarding, wake boarding and playing sports. He loved to make people laugh and always liked being involved in projects.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his parents, include a sister, Daniela P. Borquez and her husband Charlie Watson of Johnson City; a brother, Felipe I. Borquez of Elizabethton; two daughters, Finley S. Borquez of Johnson City and Penelope W. Borquez of Unicoi; two nephews, Xaylen and Cairo Watson; and his best friends that became family as well as several other family members in Chile, Canada and Sweden.
A Celebration of Life Service for Francisco Javier “Fran” Borquez will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 30, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
