Edith Marie Campbell Davies, 83, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 26, 2018, from Johnson City Medical Center, following a brief illness. Edith was born in Butler, Tenn., to the late Choncy and Florence Morgan Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Layton William Davies Sr.; a sister, Darlene Taylor; a stepdaughter, Alice Yost; and a stepson, Layton Davies.
Edith was a machine operator and a member of The Church of the Nazarene in Elizabethton. She loved to dance and exercise to stay in shape as well as working in ceramics. Edith loved helping people at the Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed eating at the fish frys, bingo and just being with her friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Bobbie Lynn Peters of Grafton, Ohio, Cheryl Watkins of Birmingham, Ohio, and Marie Orzeck of Elyria, Ohio; one son, Richard Watkins of Elyria, Ohio; three stepsons, Jerry Davies, Bob Davies and Art Davies, all of Elyria, Ohio; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Campbell of Elizabethton and Floyd Campbell of Hampton; and two sisters, Erlene Weeks and Bobbie Jean Bailey, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
