First United Methodist
The Rev. Raymond W. Amos, Sr., pastor, will present the sermon “Prayer Has No Boundaries For Those Who Believe” Sunday at morning worship at 9:55 a.m. The scripture text is Mark 7: 24-30.
Sunday School will be at 11:20 a.m.
The Junior High 4:12 Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:12 to 5:25 p.m. and the Senior High Ministries will meet from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. The Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Life Lessons will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall.

Unaka Baptist
The Brotherhood at Unaka Baptist Church will have a country style breakfast Saturday between 7 and 10 a.m. The menu will include biscuits, gravy, eggs, two kinds of sausage, bacon and hash brown potatoes. Other items are available on request.
The cost is $7 with proceeds going to the church building fund.

Willow Springs
Willow Springs Baptist Church will observe homecoming Sunday with the Rev. Dean Smith preaching at 10 a.m.
Sacred Harmony will sing at 11 a.m. after which a meal and time of fellowship will be enjoyed.
There will be no evening service.
All former pastors and members are welcome.
Dr. Kenneth Jordan is serving the church as pastor.

First Christian
Minister Michael Klaus will preach Sunday at morning worship at First Christian Church. The service will begin at 9:45 a.m. with worship being led by Dr. David Mills, who will also give the communion meditation.
Al Whirledge will read scripture and Gene Estep will have special music.
Bible school classes will meet at 11 a.m.
Minister Klaus will speak at the evening service at 6 p.m. and at the Wednesday evening Bible study, also at 6 p.m. Choir practice will resume Wednesday evening to begin working on the Christmas cantata.
The Tuesday morning prayer group led by Minister John Smith will be held at 10 a.m.

The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will preach Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service. Scripture reading is from Mark 7: 1-23.
An Education Hour will be held at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities for the week include Meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to noon; and yoga Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Poplar Grove
Poplar Grove Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday with special music and worship provided by Tina Smith from Asheville, N.C., at the 11 a.m. service.
A fellowship lunch will be served immediately following the morning service.
All members and former members are invited to attend.

The Rev. Jason Simerly will be guest minister at Upper Gap Creek Baptist Church Sunday at the 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. worship services.

The public is invited to attend “Unleashed: Leaving the Chains of Addiction Behind” Sunday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. at Elk Park Christian Church.
The service will feature Recovery Soldiers Ministries, which will also be featured at services Sept. 17 and 19 at 7 p.m.

Bethany Baptist
Bethany Baptist Church, Johnson City, will celebrate homecoming Sunday with special services at 10 and 11 a.m. A lunch will be served following the morning service.

New Life Christian
New Life Christian Church, Elizabethton, will sponsor a night of prayer and praise Saturday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m. at the T.A. Dugger Junior High School Auditorium.
Featured singers will include Bobby McGee and family, Joel Crisp, and No Name But His.
Admission is free and everyone is invited.

Long Hollow Baptist
Log Hollow Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and the worship service at 11 a.m.
The guest speaker for the worship service is Rev. David Reed from Arlington, Va. Special singing will be presented by the Sounds of Victory.
Following the service lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
