The court date for four individuals charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping has been moved to November.

According to information provided to the Elizabethton Star, Matthew Dye, 20; Ross Kelley Jr., 38; Kasey Miller, 31; and Michael Silcox, 41, were scheduled in criminal court on Wednesday, Sept. 19, and each of their court dates were rescheduled to Friday, Nov. 30. Each individual was also appointed a public defender.

In July, the foursome were arrested and charged with kidnapping and assaulting a man. According to information provided by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, investigators found a video on Miller’s cell phone showing her beating a man with a baseball bat. Reportedly, Miller struck the victim with a baseball bat multiple times while Dye stabbed and cut the victim around his neck. Police say that Silcox filmed the assault and Kelley stood as a lookout for the group while the incident happened.
