An annual tradition took place Friday morning with the Elizabethton Kiwanis Club hosting their annual picnic for children in the community. A handful of children from Elizabethton and Carter County school districts were able to stop by for food and games at Cat Island Park in Elizabethton.

“We love having the opportunity to host this picnic for the children of Elizabethton City Schools and Carter County Schools,” said Kiwanis Club President Tyler Fleming. “I know we were able to serve a lot of food. I just think it’s great to see everyone come together like this to give back to our schools. We wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Fleming thank Kiwanians in attendance, along with Key Club members from Elizabethton and Unaka high schools, Chick-fil-A and Food City for helping make the event a success.
