Lynn Valley
Lynn Valley Baptist Church will celebrate 75 years of ministry Sunday. Services begin at 10 a.m. with Scott Cagle, Senior Pastor of Northstar Church, Knoxville, as guest speaker. Special music will be presented by the combined choirs of Children, Youth, and the Adult Choir.
Following the service a fellowship meal will be served in the Life Center.
Morgan Chapel
Morgan Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1782 Ripshin Mountain Road, will celebrate homecoming Sunday with special singing at 10 a.m. by Sunnyside.
The homecoming message will be presented by the pastor, the Rev. Greg Whitehead.
Everyone is invited.
Simerly Creek
Believers Fellowship
Simerly Creek Believers Fellowship Church, 806 Simerly Creek Road, Hampton, will have homecoming Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m.
The Rev. Terry Jones will preach and the McGee Family Singers will provide special music. Following the service, lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
It will be the 73rd homecoming for the church, which is pastored by the Rev. Jimmy Holtsclaw.

Elizabethton Nazarene
Pastor Eddie Sainvil of the Petit Grove Community Church in Petit Grove, Haiti will be guest speaker Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Elizabethton Church of the Nazarene. He will speak at the 11 a.m. service.
Since the Haitian earthquake, the Rev. Sainvil has built a community church, orphanage, and more recently, a school.
The public is invited to the service.
Long Hollow
Sacred Journey will present special singing Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Long Hollow Baptist Church, Valley Forge.

Big Springs
Church of Christ
The Big Springs Church of Christ will celebrate homecoming Sunday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m.
The guest speaker will be Bob Allen with special music by Larry Jeffers. Lunch will be served following the service.
Revival with Minister Allen will be held Oct. 15-17 with services at 7 p.m. Special music will be presented at each service.
Central Baptist
Don Piper, author of “90 Minutes in Heaven,” will speak this evening and again Sunday, at both 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., at Central Baptist Church, Mountain City.
The Rev. Rick Thomason, pastor, invites the public to attend.
Cedar Grove
Homecoming will be celebrated Oct. 14 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Special music will be presented by Terry Wood and Gary Rice.
Following the service, lunch will be served.

First Christian
The minister, Michael Klaus, will continue his series of sermons on the theme “Jesus Speaks” at Sunday morning worship Oct. 7 at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. This week, his message is from Rev. 2: 19-29 and Jesus’s message to the church at Thyratira.
The service will begin at 9:45 a.m. Worship will be led by Dr. David Mills, and the community meditation will be given by Randy Brockley. Randy Tadlock will read the scripture.
Bible School classes will meet at 11 a.m.
The evening service is at 6 p.m.
The Tuesday morning prayer group led by John Smith will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary
The Wednesday evening Bible study is at 6 p.m.
Saturday, a benefit concert will be held at 6 p.m. for Recovery Soldiers. The concert will feature music by Tony Rominger, Fred Goodwin, Loretta Bowers, and Deborah Knapp accompanied by Scott Reynolds. A love offering will be received.

Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday at Riverview Baptist Church, Broad Street Ext.
The service will begin at 10 a.m. and everyone is invited.

Lower Shell Creek
Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday at Lower Shell Creek Christian Church, Roan Mountain. The service will begin at 11 a.m.
Revival will be held Oct. 7-11 with services Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m.
The evangelist for the services is Jack Harris.

Roan Street Free Will
Chaplain Eddie Young will speak Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church.
Called Out will present special singing Sunday, Oct. 14, at the 11 a.m. service.

Firs Presbyterian
Dr. David Roane will lead worship Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. The service begins at 11 a.m. and Dr. Roane will be teaching from Isa. 10: 1-2 and Micah 6:8. He will be reflecting on the words of Desmond Tutu: “We are made for goodness. We are made for love. We are made for friendliness. We are made for togetherness. We are made for all of the beautiful things that you and I know. We are made to tell the world that there are no outsiders. All are welcome: black, white, red, yellow, rich, poor, educated, not educated, male, female, gay, straight. All, all, all. We all belong to the family, this human family, God’s family.”
An Education Hour for all ages will be held at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities of the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; The Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday; Exercise Class Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.; and yoga from 10 a.m. to noon Friday.

First United Methodist
“Good News About God” is the title of Sunday’s sermon at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton. The scripture text is Luke 15: 1-10.
The morning service will begin at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
A Great Night of Evangelism will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. with guest Bishop Richard Looney speaking. All Carter County United Methodists are invited to share in the service.
The Rev. Raymond Amos is pastor and invites the public to attend all services at the church.
