Carter County Hunting and Fishing Association is holding a Tennessee handgun permit class Monday, Oct. 8, and Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the old upstairs county courthouse starting at 6 p.m.
You must attend both nights and complete qualification. The CCHFA supplies the pistols for the qualification part of the class.
The Association qualifies you at a time convenient to your schedule at the Carter County Sheriff’s range. The club and classes are covered by NRA liability insurance. All you need to bring is your money, a valid driver’s license, a pen and some paper. You will also be taught in depth so that you may select a pistol that is best suited for you. If you are interested, please contact a member of the Association or call 474-6467, 542-8672 or 542-2433. If you desire to pre-register for the class go to DL.SAFETY.TN.GOV.
Regardless of your shooting knowledge or expertise, you will find this class both informative and a good review of the basics. It is taught by state and NRA certified CCHFA members who have been teaching marksmanship for over 45 years. They know their subject and have the ability to make the classes fun. The class costs $50. Class hours and days can be adjusted to fit your work schedule.
The CCHFA is a non-profit organization and all money earned from these classes goes into improving hunting, fishing and gun safety in Carter County.
