Jacob T. “Jake” Taylor

Jacob T. “Jake” Taylor, 88, of Elizabethton, passed away early Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the James H. Quillen Community Living Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Walter Pruitt and Georgia Clyburn Taylor.
Jake was a graduate of Unaka High School. He served in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve and was retired as a Plant Supervisor at North American Rayon Corporation.
Jake was an avid fisherman and was considered an expert at trout, steelhead and salmon fishing by his friends. He loved being outdoors, tending his flower garden and feeding the squirrels. In earlier years, Jake attended New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Boyd Taylor, and four brothers, Jarred “Rusty” Taylor, who passed away October 4, 2018, Joy, Jerry and Charles “Rank” Taylor.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Tammy Maurie Taylor (Ron) VanderMolen; one brother, Louis Vaughn Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and his dog “Taffy.”
It was his request to be cremated and no services are planned.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the Taylor family.
