To the editor:
We are so BLESSED to have all the wonderful medical facilities that we do here in Carter County to care for our aged and infirm.
We have Sycamore Shoals Hospital, our nursing homes, which include Hermitage, Hillview, Ivy Hall, Pine Ridge (Signature), Life Care, and Roan Highlands. All facilities are mandated by the State of Tennessee and give excellent care.
According to the National Nursing Home Quality Improvement Campaign, one of our nursing homes (Hermitage) is listed as No. 1 out of 311 nursing homes in the state. They follow quality indicators.
In 1992, the State of Tennessee began requiring all nursing homes to have one class per month. I taught these classes for several years. I am also a clinical instructor for LPN students (TCAT) at Hermitage Nursing Home and Sycamore Shoals Hospital and am a chaplain there. I have walked those halls and know first hand what a great job all these facilities render.
I am truly thankful for all these medical facilities.
Thank you.

Sincerely,
Lula Belle Street, RN
Hampton
