Wilma Yvonne Simerly Hill

Wilma Yvonne Simerly Hill, 82, of Hampton, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol.
Born in Oceana, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late James William and Mary Ann Peters Simerly.
Wilma had lived in Hampton for most of her life and attended Hampton High School. She loved sports, especially the Hampton Bulldogs. She was a UT Football Fan and a Soccer MeMaw. She was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church. She loved life and kids and giving out trick-or-treat candy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hill; two sisters, Elsie and Helen; and three brothers, James, Bobby and Joe.
Survivors include two children, Donna Carol Teague and husband Daniel, Butler, and Bobby Joe Taylor and wife Rita, Bristol, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Theresa Dawn Monroe, Chesapeake, Va., Billy Paul Taylor, Bristol, Va., Kevin Michael Taylor, Chesapeake, Va., Antonia Marissa Christinson, Virginia Beach, Va., Danny Edward “Eddie” Teague II, of the home, and Daniel Lucas Teague, Elizabethton; several great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Wilma Yvonne Simerly Hill will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. B.J. Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.
