Annis “Bea” Forbes

Annis “Bea” Forbes, 97, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with Lord on Thursday, November 15, 2018, from her residence. Bea was born in the Elk Mills Community of Butler, Tenn., a daughter of James Lloyd Cable and Rita Dove Grindstaff Cable. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Forbes; a daughter, Thelma Frazier; one brother; and three sisters.
Bea was a homemaker and was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was a member of Dungan’s Chapel Baptist Church and loved working in her garden of vegetables and flowers. Bea also enjoyed playing Scrabble and was known to “play a mean game.”
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Dean Forbes, of the home; a special nephew, Jason White, of Unicoi; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor the life of Annis “Bea” Forbes will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, at Forbes Cemetery in Elizabethton with Rev. Ray Colbaugh and Rev. Roger Hayley officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Saturday.
