The East Tennessee Mandolin Orchestra is partnering with Area Resource Ministries (ARM) to present a benefit concert Tuesday, Nov. 20, at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature a variety of swing, jazz, and light classical music. Featured will be mandolins, mandolas, mandocellos, guitars, and bass.
The ETSU Mandolin Orchestra is made up of talented ETSU students and faculty in the Old Time, Bluegrass, and Country Music Program. The musicians are generously donating their time to support Area Resource Ministries’ efforts to alleviate hunger in Carter County.
Admission is free, but donations are requested. The funds from this concert will help ARM provide holiday food boxes as well as winter meals.
ARM is located at 714 West C. St., Elizabethton, and is always in need of food, monetary donations, and volunteers. “The concert is a good way to kick off Thanksgiving week by counting our blessings and helping those in
need have nutritious, delicious holiday and winter meals,” said an ARM spokesperson.
