Charlotte Rebecca Clawson Hodges, age 69, of the Central Community, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at her home following an extended illness. She was a daughter of the late Charlie and Elma Campbell Clawson and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hodges, Sr.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Paul and Jessie Hodges; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Louis Amburn and a brother, Jimmy Clawson. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

 

Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Jerry Hodges, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Elizabethton, TN; Todd Hodges and his wife, Brenda, of Greeneville, TN; Steven Hodges and his wife, Jennifer, of Unicoi, TN; four grandchildren, Jordan Hodges and his wife, Natalie, of Piney Flats, TN; Hunter Hodges and his girlfriend, Emilee Carver, of Elizabethton, TN; Allie Hodges of Greeneville, TN; Lincoln Hodges of Unicoi, TN; a great-grandson, Grant Tyler Hodges of Piney Flats, TN; four brothers, Johnny Clawson and his wife, Eunice, of Bristol, VA; Bill Clawson and his wife, Judy, of Elizabethton, TN; Doug Clawson and his wife, Gerri of Jonesborough, TN; Ray Clawson of Pensacola, FL; her special dog, Lilly and a special friend, Karen Dykes. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Hodges will be conducted on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 7:30 PM at Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Rev. Kenneth Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:30 PM on Tuesday prior to the service or at the home at other times.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Wednesday, December, 12, 2018, at 1:45 PM in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the cemetery at 1:35 PM on Wednesday.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Chakraborty, Jennifer Norton, Kim Reece and Dayla Hurley of the Regional Cancer Center and Brittany Gonzalez, Carmen Baker and the staff of Avalon Hospice.
