Nancy Diane Hyder, 68, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. Nancy was born in Carter County to the late Vance and Ethel Jenkins Hyder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman “Buddy” Hyder and wife Jeane and Tony Jack Hyder, and one nephew, Patrick Hyder.
Nancy was a legal secretary and had worked for both Sam LaPorte and T.J. Little for many years. She was a past president of the Legal Secretary Association and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Elizabethton.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Michael K. Adams of Elizabethton; a brother, Ray Hyder and wife Sue of Johnson City; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Hyder of Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Nancy Diane Hyder will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 30, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Mike Berry and Pastor Lu Crandall officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The family wishes to thank Nancy’s brother, Ray Hyder, for his support during her time of illness.
