Jerry M. English

Jerry M. English, 64, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to meet his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was the son of the late Gernie and Sarah English. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Holtsclaw, Judy Owens and Maggie Berry, and a brother, Ronnie English.
Jerry was a devoted husband and father. He was an evangelist with Born Again Ministries who loved to spread the word of God through song and music. He was a member of The Bible Church in Johnson City. He enjoyed singing bluegrass gospel music, along with his wife, Lorraine.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Lorraine English; one daughter, Felicia English of Bluff City, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Ashlyn and Chase Younce.
A service to celebrate the life of Jerry M. English will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, January 5, at The Bible Church, 715 King Springs Road, Johnson City, Tenn., 37601 with Mr. Michael Lyons and Mr. Jeff Barnes, pastors, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Adam Knight. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at Harmony Cemetery, Elizabethton, on Sunday, January 6, at 2 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Roy Messer, Patrick Hyder, Ricky Babb, Adam Knight, Jeff Barnes, James Wyke, Richard Tester and Brad Thornberry. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 1:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the nurses in ICU at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Pam and Ricky Babb, and friends of the church.
