Jr. Cyclone boys take one of two from Robinson

The T.A. Dugger boys’ varsity and junior varsity tangled with Ross Robinson on Monday evening in hardwood action with a mixed outcome as the Jr. Cyclone varsity took a 15-point win, 64-49 over Robinson while the junior varsity fell in a close 6-point defeat, 43-37.

With three Jr. Cyclones breaking double digits, the Jr. Cyclones were just too much for Robinson to overcome.

Cade Russell was the big gun on the night for TAD as Russell smoked the nets to the tune of 21 points while reeling in five rebounds to lead the charge.

Dalton Mitchell had a big game as well recording 18 points and 6 assists. Nate Stephens had a monster night hitting a double-double scoring 17 points and cleaning the boards for 12 rebounds.

The Jr. Cyclones also received a field goal apiece from Kaleb Hambrick, Carter Davison, Peyton Johnson, and Bradley Cannon.

Johnson also contributed a solid night on the boards pulling down 8 rebounds in the win.

Junior Varsity

In junior varsity play, the Jr. Cyclones laid it all out on the line but just couldn’t overcome Robinson in dropping the six-point contest.

Luke Whaley led TAD with 10 points in the contest. Zion Reddick had a solid night in the loss totaling 8 points with 5 rebounds.

Jeriah Griffin contributed 6 points and picked Robinson’s pocket for 4 steals. Will Churchhill (5 pts, 6 rebs.), Mason Ball (5 pts, 5 rebs.), and Eli Blevins (3 pts) closed out the night for the Jr. Cyclones.
