Round 2 yields same results as Jr. ‘Dogs take pair

After weekend action that saw the Hampton Jr. Bulldogs sweep a pair of wins from Chuckey-Doak, the two teams hooked back up Monday for round 2 of basketball action with the same end results as Hampton swept the Jr. Black Knights.

The Jr. Lady Bulldogs blew out to a 30-14 halftime lead and never looked back in doubling up the Jr. Lady Black Knights by a 48-24 margin.
Hampton saw 8 players score 2 points or more led by Kenzie Ramey who scored 10 points to pace the Jr. Lady ‘Dogs.
Bre Davis and Chloe Watson had a big night with 9 points each in the win. Taylor Berry tickled the nets for 8 points.
Others contributing to the Hampton win were Linsey Jenkins (5), Rylie McClain (3), Shania Pierce (2), and Ashley Carver (2).
Ady Ripley scored 6 points to pace the Jr. Lady Black Knights.

With the last meeting between the two teams resulting in a one-point win for Hampton, the Jr. Dogs left no doubt in their second meeting handing the Jr. Black Knights a 26-point defeat.
Chuckey-Doak struggled to get going offensively in the opening half opening the door for Hampton to build a 32-16 lead at the half.
The Jr. Black Knights could have been in a deeper hole if they hadn’t converted 12-of-18 free throws in the half.
Austin Bentley was filling up the bottom of the bucket for the Jr. ‘Dogs as he collected 21 points to lead all scorers.
Dylan Trivett also had a fine game offensively as he broke double figures with 11 points. Cadon Buckles and Ty McElyea scored five points apiece in the win. McElyea was a glass cleaner hauling in 11 rebounds for the Jr. ‘Dogs.
Johnathan Greenwell and Hayden Campbell closed out the scoring ledger with 2 points.
