Jr. Cyclone boys battle Jr. Vikings to a split

With the season quickly wrapping up, the T.A. Dugger Jr Cyclone boys made a trip to Bristol on Monday evening to tangle with the Vance Middle School Jr. Vikings.

The Jr. Cyclone varsity managed to take a 55-41 win while the junior varsity came up on the short end dropping a 34-20 decision.

Dalton Mitchell put together his second strong game in a row to help lead the Jr. Cyclone varsity to the 14-point victory.

Mitchell torched the nets for 19 points while collecting 4 assists and 4 steals in the contest to propel his team.

There was plenty of help to be found as Cade Russell rifled in 16 points and picked the Jr. Viking’s pockets for 5 steals.

Nate Stephens played a contributing role as well dropping in 9 points with 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Bradley Cannon netted 5 points while Peyton Johnson chipped in 3 points and reeled in 7 rebounds.

Carter Davison (2 pts., 4 rebounds) and Brayden Blevins (2 pts.) closed out the night in scoring for TAD.

Boys Junior Varsity

In junior varsity play, the Jr. Cyclones just couldn’t put enough points together to pull out the win on the road.

Mason Ball scored 5 points and had 8 rebounds while Luke Whaley also scored 5 points to lead TAD in the game.

Eli Blevins added a nice game as he collected 3 points and did more damage with 4 rebounds and 2 steals for the Jr. Cyclones. Will Churchill drained a trey to finish with 3 points as well.

Jonathan Espinoza and Mac Paulson scored 2 points apiece.
