James Buckles

James Buckles, age 62, of Elizabethton passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was the son of the late Horace and Roxie Wilson Buckles. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two step-grandchildren Willow Eastridge & Parker Eastridge. James retired from Snap-On Tools after 37 years of employment. He enjoyed racing with his sons (Buckles Drag Racing), spending time with his children and grandchildren, four wheeling, anything to do with Fords, attending swap meets and listening to classic rock.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife; Tena Webb Buckles of the home, two sons; Jason Buckles (Jennifer) and Justin Buckles (Megan) all of Elizabethton. Three grandchildren; Leila Buckles, Abby Shelton and Emorie Buckles all of Elizabethton, one stepdaughter; Jessie Eastridge (Levi) of Bluff City and one special cousin; Joy Ketterman of Elizabethton.
A service to honor the life of James Buckles will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Mr. Richard Thomason and Mr. Coy Webb officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Pearl Bowers Cemetery in Elizabethton. Pallbearers will be, Gary Kemp, Noel Church, Mark Church, Lloyd Pierce, Jerry Pierce, Jeremy Pierce, Justin Pierce and Catlin Hill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Wilson and Levi Eastridge. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Blue Springs Christian Church, 107 Rominger Rd., Elizabethton, TN 37643.
