Jr. Lady Cyclones tame Lady Panthers

KINGSPORT—After a successful regular season, the T.A. Dugger Jr. Lady Cyclones were hoping to kick off their postseason on a strong foot and got the results they were seeking with a 40-24 win over the Jr. Lady Panthers of Church Hill.

The Jr. Lady Cyclones came out of the gates like gangbusters building a 29-9 lead after 12 minutes of play and then kept the lead out of danger the rest of the way.

Renna Lane was the leading scorer for TAD after knocking down 11 points in the contest. Lina Lyons totaled 9 points for Coach Matt Fox’s team.

Katie Lee added 5 points while Mailey Guy and Olivia Holly pitched in with 4 points each.

A trio of Jr. Lady Cyclones picked up 2 points apiece in the contest as Mac Depew, Maddie Fowler, and Reiley Whitson contributed to the win.

Kenidy Harris wrapped up the scoring with 1 point.

The Jr. Lady Cyclones will be headed for a showdown with Unicoi County on Tuesday evening as the tournament continues from Sevier.
