Tom Glenn Grindstaff

Tom Glenn Grindstaff, 46, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness.
Tom Glenn was a native of Carter County. He was a graduate of Hampton High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He was employed in construction, farming and truck driving.
Tom Glenn was a member of Siam Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Grindstaff.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Amanda Thomas Grindstaff; his son, Hunter Grindstaff; his daughters, Talley Carver and Ashlynne Carver; his mother, Glenda Rhea VanHuss Grindstaff; a sister, Diane Mitchell; a brother, Steve Grindstaff and wife Ashley; and several nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Tom Glenn Grindstaff will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 31, at Siam Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Roddy and the Rev. Rick Lak officiating. Interment will follow in the Nave Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, will be Scott Elliott, Andy Wiseman, Newell Charlton, Hunter Grindstaff, Johnny Hyder, Stanton Alexander, Bart Woodard and John Woodard. Honorary pallbearers will be E.A. Bowers, Phil Stanley and his church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Carter County Rescue Squad, the staff of Fresenius Dialysis and the staff of Quillen Rehab Center. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence.
