Lake Forest slips past Jr. Cyclones in boys’ sectionals

The T.A. Dugger Jr. Cyclones made a trip to Knoxville’s Hardin Valley Academy on Saturday in search of a win in the East Tennessee Boys Sectionals but ran into another hungry team in Lake Forest from Cleveland.

Lake Forest managed to hold on and take the win as the Jr. Cyclones struggled to score offensively in the second half after working to a 28-25 lead at the half in dropping a 43-35 decision.

Nate Stephens led the Jr. Cyclones in the contest as the only TAD player to reached double digits with 13 points. Stephens had three treys in the game and added 4 assists.

Dalton Mitchell scored 8 points while also adding 3 assists and collecting 4 steals as well. Cade Russell contributed in the contest adding 5 points and reeling in 3 rebounds and 2 steals.

Peyton Johnson cleaned the glass for 6 rebounds and recorded 4 points. Will Churchill and Bradley Cannon checked out with 2 points apiece while Carter Davison was credited with 6 rebounds and score 1 point.

TAD season record is 19 wins against 6 losses.
