Roy “Dan” Rash

Roy “Dan” Rash, 59, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 4, 2019, at his residence. Roy was born in Carter County, Tenn., to the late William Roy Rash and Leota Walker Rash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ron W. Rash.
Dan had worked as a technician for Duncan Gas and then for Heritage Propane for almost 30 years. He was baptized at Pleasant Beach Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Roan Mountain and the Moose Lodge.
Dan loved long rides through the mountains and watching movies. His favorite show was Andy Griffith and he was always known to be a happy person.
Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life and best friend, Samantha Hilton, of the home; one sister, Linda Lowe and husband Bennie of Johnson City; an uncle, Hugh Walker of the Neva Community of Mountain City; a special cousin, Judy Wilson of Johnson County; many other special cousins that he loved very much and the entire Hilton family.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, February 8, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:30 until 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Shriner’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
