Franklin D. “Frank” Richardson

Franklin D. “Frank” Richardson, 77, of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 25, 2019, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Wiley T. and Anna Pearl Williams Richardson.
Frank was a 1961 graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended Steed College. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was an employee of North American Rayon Corporation for 35+ years until its closing and he retired from Mapes Piano String.
Frank was a member of Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Carter County Honor Guard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Charlotte Lou Fair Richardson, who passed away June 13, 2012; two brothers, Stephen Paul Richardson and Carl Richardson; and two sisters, Sylvia Richardson and Florence Stevens.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Manning and husband Foye, Morristown, Tenn., and Diana Wright, Elizabethton; his grandsons, Thomas Tester, David “Dylan” Wright and Franklin Wright; his granddaughters, Nickie Grayless, Anna Jennings and Emily Wright; his great-granddaughters, Makayla Tester, Zoë Hyatt, Olivia Tester, Izzabella Wright and Chasity Grayless; his great-grandsons, Timothy and Steven Jennings and Spencer Heaton; two brothers, Harley Richardson, Johnson City, and Everette Richardson, Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 28, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Jordan and Pastor Gene Fleenor officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 1:45 p.m. Friday, March 1, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers and Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be his family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
