NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Police in Tennessee have released the identity of a man accused of using a razor blade to attack a security guard who then shot him.
News outlets report Nashville police say 49-year-old Marcus Pullens will be charged with aggravated assault and theft once he is discharged from the hospital. Police say Pullens was trying to steal an air freshener from a Walgreens store Wednesday when the guard confronted him and a fight ensued.
Police say Pullens repeatedly slashed the guard’s arm. They say the guard then shot Pullens’ legs. Police say no charges are expected to be filed against the guard, who was treated for his cuts.
Pullens pleaded guilty in February to a similar slashing-theft crime and was sentenced to probation.
