Ruby Davis Hughes

Ruby Davis Hughes, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2019, in Watauga She was the daughter of the late R.B. and Cora Alice Davis. She was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Hughes, and by eight sisters and four brothers.
Ruby was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She loved to cook and to clean the house.
Those left to cherish the memory of Ruby are her husband of nearly 71 years, Walter Eugene Hughes Jr., of the home; a son, David Eugene Hughes, Watauga; two grandchildren, Debbie Jones and husband James of Williston, S.C., and Angela Pederson of Beaver Creek, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Jase Jones and Ella Pederson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life for Ruby Davis Hughes will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Gary Roe, minister, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Visitation with the family will be from 1 until 2 p.m., prior to the service.
