Rebecca Ann Berry, 57, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at her residence.
Born August 7, 1961 in Bristol, Va., she had lived in Elizabethton most of her life.
Rebecca was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended East Tennessee State University. She was a Computer Repair person.
Rebecca was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. She was inducted into the 2017 Carter County Sports Hall of Fame for Softball.
Survivors include her mother, Mona Ernestine and Gene Sweeney, Elizabethton; her father, R.H. and Jean Berry, Watauga; her son, Matthew Pierce, and grandson, Lincoln Duarte; her brothers, Bob and Vickie Berry and David and Cindy Sweeney; her sisters, Michelle and Rick Bright and Angel and Stanley White; several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly; her fur baby, Pork Chop; and also a large group of friends too numerous to mention.
A memorial service for Rebecca Ann Berry will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Oak Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Polk and Dr. Chris Shumate officiating. Music will be provided by Jamie Schaff, soloist, and David Arney, organist. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Street Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Rebecca to the Appalachian Tails Rescue, c/o Robin McKamy, 206 Allen Avenue, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
