Linda Sue Kyte, 75, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. Linda was born in Elizabethton to the late Carl Lester Hardin Sr. and Nora Beatrice Wilson Hardin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Richard Kyte Sr.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had worked as a dietician. She attended Sims Hill Christian Church. Linda loved to be outside working in her garden and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to travel, camp, and her beloved dogs, Bandit, Fifi and Zach. She simply enjoyed life!
Those left to cherish her memories include two sons, Norman Richard Kyte Jr. and wife Patricia Gail of Elizabethton, and Brian Duane Kyte and wife Whitney Michelle of Knoxville; one daughter, Kathy Kyte of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Kevin Lynn Kyte, Casey Nicole Kyte Saults, Blaklyn DeLain Kyte, Zaiden Murray Kyte and Beckett Raines Kyte; one great-granddaughter, Calista Jewel Saults; one brother, Carl Lester Hardin Jr. of Hampton; two sisters, Sherry Fortner of Elizabethton and Charlotte Williams of Erwin; and an uncle, Pete Wilson of Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews and numerous special friends also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Linda Sue Kyte will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Sherrel Nave and Pastor Jonathan Harrison officiating. Music will be provided by Lisa Phipps Carter and Jeffery Sharpe. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, or at the residence at any time. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Kyte, Leslie Grindstaff, Jimmy Oliver, Scotty Oliver, David Kyte and Mark Henry. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Harrison, Jeff Sharpe, Claude “Pet” Guinn, Kenny Fortner, Pete Wilson, Mike Williams and Tim Saults. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
