Pat suffered from Parkinson’s disease and in hopes to find a cure, she selflessly donated her body to science for the study of this disease. Pat had worked as a chemist for Nuclear Fuel Services. After her employment there, she moved to Ohio where she worked for Ohio Edison in Akron, Ohio and BF Goodrich in Avon Lake, Ohio. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elizabethton.
Those left to continue her legacy and cherish her memories include her loving and devoted husband, George Simmons, of the home; a son, L. Paul Myers III (Rhonda) of Gray, Tenn.; two sisters, Susan LeGard (Ned) of Roanoke, Va., and Jackie Singleton of Stuarts Draft, Va.; five grandchildren, Jessica Myers, Nicholas Myers, Garret Myers, Josh Hinkle (Brooke), all of Gray, Tenn., and Jason Hinkle (Conner) of Johnson City, Tenn.; one great-grandchild, Alayah Burkes; and three step-children, Dan Simmons (Catherine), Mark Simmons and Cindy Simmons.
