Lucy N. Oliver Richardson, 60, of Hampton, Tenn., gained her Heavenly wings on Friday, April 5, 2019, when she went home to be with the Lord and her family from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Lucy was born in Carter County to the late William Boyd Oliver and Evelyn Rona Oliver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Richardson; her beloved daughter, Angela Kay Lowe; and sister, Loretta Richardson.
Lucy was a loving wife, mother and sister and will be deeply missed. She was a homemaker and a member of Sunset Baptist Church of Roan Mountain, Tenn. Lucy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking and reading.
Those left to cherish her many memories include her brothers, Lonnie Oliver and wife Mary of Elizabethton and Wayne Oliver and wife Susan of Stoney Creek; and a very special, dear friend, Margaret Hurley of Elizabethton.
A service to remember and celebrate the life of Lucy N. Oliver Richardson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Mark Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, or at the residence of her brother. The graveside service will follow in the Garland Cemetery in Stoney Creek. Active pallbearers will be Ethan McKinney, Travis Templeton, Billy Hilton, Jerry Bowers, Paul Scalf and Thomas Reed. The family would like to especially thank the doctors at ETSU Cardiology and the Johnson City Medical Center, also the doctors and staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the love and care shown to Lucy and her family.
