Roy J. Nidiffer

Roy J. Nidiffer, 79, of Hampton, Tenn., passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Wiley and Lorene Williams Nidiffer.
Mr. Nidiffer graduated from Happy Valley High School and had worked at North American Rayon Corporation, Harris Tarkett and CORE before his retirement.
Mr. Nidiffer was a member of Little Doe Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed raising goats and watching westerns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Louise Taylor Nidiffer; a brother, Bob Nidiffer; a sister, Janice Orr; a son-in-law, Robert Stills; and a grandson, Thomas Stills.
Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Elaine Stills, of the home; two granddaughters, Michelle Grubbs and husband Nathaniel and Julie Bailey and husband Heath, all of Unicoi; great-grandchildren, Dylan Nelson, Alexus Grubbs and Haley Grubbs; and a great-great-granddaughter, Reilei Nelson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Roy J. Nidiffer will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Eddie Orr officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, or at the residence at any time. Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Nathaniel Grubbs, Heath Bailey, Steve Newsome, Caleb Newsome, Dylan Nelson, Thomas Tester, Derrick Mills and T.J. Guinn. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
