A special thank you to Keep Carter County Beautiful

To the Editor:
The citizens of Elizabethton and Carter County are so fortunate to have Ed Jordan and the members of Keep Carter County Beautiful among us. This group and other volunteers and local businesses have worked tirelessly in their mission to beautify an already beautiful and often breathtaking area.
It is so sad that they have had to spend so many hours cleaning up after other thoughtless people who have made “landfills” out of some areas by dumping tons of trash in the county and in Watauga Lake. The latest work on the Tweetsie Trail is and will continue to be greatly appreciated. I walk this trail on a regular basis as so many others do, and Elizabethton’s end of the trail has needed shade and the beautification of trees and plantings from the beginning.
These endeavors require hours of hard, manual labor and the generous contributions of so many individuals and local businesses. We should all patronize these businesses and thank the individuals whenever we can and those who are able to, should try to participate whenever we are able to do so.
Thank you so much, to all of you.
