A little rain from Mother Nature wasn’t going to be enough to drown out the enthusiasm of those who came out Saturday morning for the annual Roan Mountain Rhododendron Festival hosted by the Roan Mountain Citizens Club.

There was a little bit of everything for the large crowd that filtered into the Roan Mountain State Park around the amphitheater as artisans were showing off their trades and a lot of different items were up for sale.

From earrings to stained-glass oak boxes, those who came out had a large selection of booths to go through and make purchases.

Food and drink vendors were staying busy with various selections to chose from with the Auntie Ruth donut and pretzel trailer being one of the festival’s hotspots for most of the morning.

As always a variety of music was being played on the amphitheater stage as both young and old were having a great time taking in everything that the Rhododendron Festival had to offer.

The festival concluded on Sunday under beautiful skies.
