Russell James Wolfe, Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 29, 2019. He had recently celebrated his 88th birthday on June 1, 2019.
Dad was an expert crane and heavy equipment operator for most of his working life. Dad was the eighth child of 11 born to the late Ralph and Lillian Wolfe of New Jersey.
Dad is survived by his seven children, Ron, Doug and Bonnie from New Jersey, Colleen from South Carolina, Dawn and Penni from Tennessee, and Bryan from Florida. Dad also had 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
In his retirement years Dad taught himself to play the harmonica and became known as “The Harmonica Man,” ministering to local nursing homes in the Elizabethton area. He also loved singing in the church choir.
There will be a memorial service at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, at Boones Creek Bible Church.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the Wolfe family.
