East Tennessee Constables Association announces in-service training for 2019

ETCA President Robert Kent Harris announces that the East Tennessee Constables Association will be hosting an in-service training to be held at the Hamblen County Courthouse located at 510 Allison Street in Morristown beginning August 22 at 6:30 p.m.
According to President Harris the course will contain all the mandatory topics such as child abuse, Evoc, firearms qualification and 20 other topics and will be a great training program which will include active shooter, building search and the use of force. The class is open to constables statewide. All constables will receive a certificate of successful completion on the last training date along with graduation and awards.
The list of instructors are:
• Kenneth R. Potter, State Certified Instructor, Retired Chief of Police;
• S/A Jerry Stout of Homeland Security, Post Certified Instructor;
• Sheriff Edward Tester, former State Trooper, now Johnson County Sheriff;
• Retired State Trooper Carrol Glover;
• Retired Narcotics Officer David Walker;
• Retired Unicoi County Sheriff David Kent Harris.
President Harris says this training program conforms to a state law passed in 2016.
