Sam R. Stout, 65, of Hampton, passed away at his residence on Monday, August 26, 2019.
A native of Carter County, he was born July 19, 1954 to the late Tom Stout and Norma Jean Banner.
As a lifelong area resident, he was a retiree from the City of Johnson City and a former employee of North American Rayon Corporation. He was a member of the Fountain of Life Bible Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Tori Stout, and granddaughter, Gemma; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Veronica Stout, and grandsons, Asa and Emmett; his former wife and friend, Mona Stout; a brother, Thomas Stout; a sister, Ann Stout Glover; and three nephews.
The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 31, in the Morton Cemetery, Hampton, with Pastor Heath Largent and Pastor Wesley Duncan officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be selected. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
