Malcolm Wayne Johnson

On Saturday, August 31, 2019, God called Malcolm Wayne Johnson by name to take his flight to be with the Lord and his family on the other side. Malcolm was born in Elizabethton to the late Paul Wayne Johnson and Helen Jean Nidiffer Johnson Vannoy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Ruby Johnson; his maternal grandparents, Charles and Rhoda Nidiffer; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Malcolm enjoyed life, had a host of friends and was a man who loved God, nature and his family. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, reading, going to church, listening to gospel music and loved his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Paula Johnson of Elizabethton; his brothers, Jimmy Moore and wife Ruby of Elizabethton and Arthur Moore and wife Sharon, also of Elizabethton; his stepfather, John Vannoy of Elizabethton; a special uncle, Kay Brewer of Elizabethton; and a special aunt, Phyllis Brewer of Elizabethton. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends also survive.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Malcolm Wayne Johnson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Allen Johnson, Pastor Jerry Davis and Pastor Mark Street officiating. Music will be provided by Pastor Mark Street, Margie Parks and Norma Johnson. Active pallbearers will be Paula Johnson, Arthur Moore, Sharon Moore, Buddy Johnson, Lynn Johnson, Jim Guinn, Dwight Minton and Mark Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers will be Kay Brewer, Jimmy Moore, James Parks and Allen Johnson. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 10:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession. The family would like to especially thank Cathy Miller for her love, care and support of Malcolm.
