After a tough five-set match against Sullivan Central in a critical Three Rivers Conference tilt earlier in the week, Coach Leslee Bradley’s Elizabethton Lady Cyclone volleyball team needed to take care of business and get off the floor in their showdown with Chuckey Doak on Thursday evening inside A.L. John Treadway Gymnasium.
The Lady Cyclones got just what the doctor ordered as they dispatched of the Lady Black Knights in three sets: 25-20, 25-14, and 25-16 to run their season record to 11-8-0 in a match that lasted an hour and 26 minutes.
Senior Morgan Smith continues to lead her team as she totaled eight kills and 12 defensive digs in the contest. Libro Deanna Hull led Elizabethton as she collected 19 defensive digs as well.
Elizabethton continues to show great balance with a number of contributions.
Whitley Maupin (six kills, eight digs), Brittany Kitchens (four kills, four digs), Hannah Boster (three kills), Kallista DePrimo (nine digs), Josie Lyons (four digs) and Kaitlin Bailey (two kills, five digs) have been playing consistent volleyball over the course of the season.
The Lady Cyclones will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Kingsport to take on the Sullivan North Lady Raiders looking to keep their recent momentum rolling.
