Lady Cyclones roll past North

KINGSPORT – The Elizabethton Lady Cyclone volleyball team has been on quite a ride as of late and they were looking to keep that momentum going when they visited Sullivan North High School for a showdown with the North Lady Raiders.
 
It didn’t take long for the Lady Raiders to discover that the Lady Cyclones are focused and looking to advance deep into the postseason as Elizabethton came out and put a quick end to the match securing three straight sets to put the home team away in one hour and 18 minutes of play.
 
Coach Leslee Bradley’s squad won 25-14, 25-21, and 25-14 to run their season record to 12-8.
 
Whitley Maupin continued to play effectively for the Lady Cyclones leading the way with eight kills and six defensive digs. Hannah Boster continues to be a handful at the net as she put down seven kills in the contest.
 
From the defensive side of the net, Deanna Hull continued her steady play by registering double-digit defensive digs with 14 in the match. Senior Morgan Smith also shows leadership for the Lady Cyclones as she remained steady with a five kill, eight dig, and three serving aces to add to her career numbers.
 
Brittany Kitchens and Josie Lyons had eight defensive digs in the match and Kitchens also chipped in with four kills in the victory.
