Jane Randolph Bennett

Jane Randolph Bennett, 89, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center. Jane was born in Elizabethton to the late S.B. and Viola Collins Randolph. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dayton Grant Bennett; two brothers, Jack Randolph and Vaughn Randolph; and one sister, Kathryn Hardin.
Jane retired as an aide for the Carter County School System and was a member of Siam Baptist Church. She loved to work in the garden and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jane also enjoyed her time at church and was very active in the church.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Judy Hyder and husband Joe of Elizabethton; two sons, David Bennett and wife Kathy of Elizabethton and Dale Bennett and wife Sharon of Johnson City; five grandchildren, Jill Lewis and husband Brett, Robin LaPorte and husband Drew, Ashton Bennett, Kelsey Bennett and Abby Bennett; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Bowers, Callie Lewis, Myles Lewis and Cooper LaPorte; and one brother, Jerome Randolph and wife Betty of Orlando, Fla. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Jane Randolph Bennett will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Jack Roddy officiating. Music will be under the direction of Bill Anderson. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The committal and entombment will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, September 16, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be the Deacons of Siam Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Farmer, Donnie Hall, K.O. Gentry and Carroll Montgomery. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the Mausoleum at 2:50 p.m. Monday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Siam Baptist Church, 2414 Siam Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
