NASHVILLE — Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and First Lady Maria Lee celebrated the top participants of Mrs. Lee’s Tennessee Kids Serve Summer Challenge with a carnival at the Tennessee Residence on September 14. During the event, Governor and First Lady Lee congratulated kids on a summer spent serving others and encouraged them to continue in their work.

“We are incredibly proud of each kid with us today for answering the call to serve,” said Mrs. Lee. “Big or small, we all have the power to make a difference. We are thrilled to celebrate our participants and grateful for their summer of service.”

The carnival included games, prizes and snacks. It also featured local nonprofits with volunteer opportunities for all ages. In August, Mrs. Lee announced that kids from across the state completed 1,400 service hours during the first annual Tennessee Kids Serve Summer Challenge.
