Phillip Ronald “Ron” Laws

Phillip Ronald “Ron” Laws, 83, of Johnson City, Tenn., passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late Edward Hubert and Muriel White Laws. He retired as a sales representative with Tri-State Inland Container and was a very active member of First United Methodist Church. Ron was a University of TN fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Farrell Laws.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 11 years, Sarah Holland Laws, of the home; three sons, Charles E. Laws, Johnson City, James Ronald “Ronnie” Laws and wife Michaele, Gray, and John Henry Laws and wife Lynne, Newton, N.C.; a step-daughter, Summer Wright and husband Jason, Kingsport, and other step-children; a sister, Carol Ann Davis and husband Ernie, Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, R.J. and Ethan Laws and Jessica Stankes; and several step-grandchildren.
A memorial service to honor the life of Phillip Ronald “Ron” Laws will be conducted at 5 p.m. Monday, September 30, at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton, with Rev. Raymond Amos officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, or at the residence at any time. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 325 East E Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
