School has retirement of flag ceremony

Keenburg Elementary School had a retirement of a flag ceremony in which the 8th grade initiated to buy and replace the old flag with a new one. Thea Fitzgerald came up with the idea and the 8th-grade class raised the money. Mr. Shell, a 7th-8th grade teacher at Keenburg, showed them how to properly handle a flag and fold it. The 8th-grade class now raises the flag every morning and brings it down at the end of every day.
