Jerlean Carr Peters, 71, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Monday, September 30, 2019, from her residence, following a long battle of sickness. Jerlean was born in Carter County to the late Wesley and Beatrice Ellis Carr.
Jerlean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed at Kennametal from 1996 to 2006 and loved anything to do with being outdoors — fishing, gardening and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dahl Peters, of the home; her children, Lisa Mintz and husband Harry of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Angela Peters of Kingsport, Tenn., and Jonathan Peters, of the home; her grandchildren, Benjamin Mintz and Samuel Mintz; and one sister, Joyce Davis of Elizabethton, Tenn.
A service to celebrate the life of Jerlean Carr Peters will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, October 4, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Kenneth Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:30 until 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 5, in the Blevins Cemetery in Stoney Creek. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession.
