Coming off an easy contest with Happy Valley Monday night, the Lady Cyclones of Elizabethton wanted to keep their momentum up as they knock off the last remaining games left for the regular season before the district tournament begins play Monday night at Sullivan Central.
Elizabethton traveled to Chuckey Doak on Tuesday night to face off with the Lady Black Knights looking for win number 20 on the season and it would take only a matter of 73 minutes for the Lady Cyclones to do so with a convincing 3-0 sweep of Chuckey-Doak winning 25-11, 25-9, and 25-14.
Once again, Lady Cyclone head coach Leslee Bradley mixed her team up with intentions of having some fun with different personnel on the floor and the team didn’t miss a beat.
After reaching the 1,000 kill plateau for her career on Monday, senior Morgan Smith kept adding to that tally with nine kills in Tuesday’s contest to go along with six defensive digs.
Whitley Maupin was working seven’s in the contest collecting seven kills along with seven digs defensively. Maupin also added four serving aces out of 12 attempts.
Deanna Hull and Brittany Kitchens were the defensive workhorses collecting 13 and 12 digs respectively.
Kallista DePrimo added six kills in the victory while Cheyenne Poiroux chipped in with five digs in the contest.
The Lady Cyclones record stands at 20-13-0 after the win.
