First Presbyterian
The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will preach Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. His message is titled “Lying to God” and is based on Acts 5: 1-11.
An Education Hour will be held at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities for the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday; Exercise Class Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.; and yoga, Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Riverview Baptist
Anniversary Sunday will be observed Oct. 6 at Riverview Baptist Church.
Testimony time with highlights of the church history will be featured at the 10 a.m. service. The worship service will begin at 10:45 a.m.
The Rev. Mark Grubb and the congregation invite the public to attend.

Marvin’s Chapel
Marvin’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 1882 Old Boones Creek Road, Johnson City, will have their annual fall festival Saturday, Oct. 5, with breakfast served from 7 to 10 a.m. followed by a barbecue lunch.
Activities will include a rummage sale, baked goods, treasure chest, fresh sausage, homemade apple butter, fried pies, and many other items.
The time for all events is 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
An antique car and tractor show will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lynn Valley Baptist
Lynn Valley Baptist Church, 1367 Broad St., Elizabethton, will have its monthly clothes closet Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.
The clothes closet is held in the church annex.

First Christian
Services at First Christian Church, Elizabethton, include Sunday morning worship at 9:45 a.m., evening worship at 6 p.m. and Wednesday evening Bible study and prayer service at 6 p.m.
First Christian Church will host a “Contending for the Faith” conference Nov. 9-10. It will be a weekend of encouragement, teaching, and training for all Christians, especially teachers and ministry readers.
The conference will feature Mike Riddle, apologist and education specialist, and Dr. David Reagan, founder and director of Lamb & Lion Ministries. The cost is $5, and participants may register at: htts://fccontend.eventbrite.com

Lower Shell Creek
Homecoming will be held Sunday at Lower Shell Creek Christian Church with services at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Revival will be held Oct. 7-10 with services each evening at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Minister Jack Harris.
The minister, Gerald Holly, invites the public to attend.

Big Springs
Big Springs Church of Christ, Gap Creek Road, will have homecoming Sunday, Oct. 13. The church will celebrate its 137th anniversary.
Following the service lunch will be served.

God’s House
Full Gospel Church
God’s House Full Gospel Church, 1206 Old Stateline Road, will have a Saturday night song service at 7 p.m. Oct. 5.
Featured singers will include James Bennett and the Gospel Lights, Mickey Neal and Family, Scotty Shelton, and Jessee and Pearl Swanner.

First United Methodist
“Your Turn At The Table” is the title of Sunday’s message at morning worship at First United Methodist Church. The sermon is based on Luke 17: 5-10.
The service will begin at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The 4:12 Junior High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:12 to 5:25 p.m. and the Senior High Ministries, Sunday from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. The Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Also, Wednesday evening Life Lessons will be at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Moore’s Chapel
Moore’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church will have revival beginning Sunday evening and continuing nightly through Wednesday. The service Sunday will begin at 6 p.m. and the remainder at 7 p.m.
The evangelist is the Rev. Bobby Ferguson, who signed to play basketball with the New York Knicks in 1968 and later played with the Chicago Bulls.
Special singing will be featured at each service.
The pastor, Richard Blevins, invites the public to attend.

Phillippi Baptist
The Phillippi Baptist Church will have its annual Harvest Dinner Monday at 6:30 p.m. with special guest Horetta Iscome. Also, the Phillippi Baptist Youth Choir will sing.
