Boozy Creek Community Center, 1989 Shelleys Road, Bristol, Va., will hold a Benefit Auction for Needy Children’s Christmas Bags at 6 p.m. Please bring snacks and items you would like to donate for the auction. Music will be provided by Ramblin’ Rose. Boozy Creek Grass will play from 5 until 6 p.m. Last year over 950 Christmas Bags were distributed from donations received in 2018. Rocky Top Gun Permit School will offer a handgun carry permit class at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton, starting at 8 a.m. Ken Potter, a veteran law enforcement officer, is the instructor for the class. Rocky Top is one of the first schools to offer permit training and has been teaching the program since 1997. Cost of the class is $55. You will need to bring your weapon and 50 rounds of ammo. Alzheimer’s Tennessee Caregiver Support Group will meet at noon at Sycamore Springs Senior Living, 1504 West Elk Ave., Elizabethton. The confidential group provides education, hope and encouragement to caregivers and family members of loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease or any related dementia.
