New Liberty

Canaan Allen Wolfe, infant son of Dustin and Lacey Wolfe, will be dedicated to the Lord Sunday during the 11 a.m. worship service at the New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.

The New Liberty Revival Choir will provide music with the pastor, the Rev. Nick Colbaugh, conducting the dedication service. All family and friends are invited to attend this special service.

The church is located on 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Lynn Valley

Fall revival will be held Oct. 20-23 at Lynn Valley Baptist Church with Mack Tester as evangelist.

Special music will be presented at the Sunday services by the Lynn Valley Celebration Choir; Loren Harris, Monday; the Ferguson Family, Tuesday; and the Lynn Valley Baptist Church Women’s Ensemble, Wednesday.

Services begin at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and at 10:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday.

First Church

of God

The Elizabethton First Church of God, 609 N. Lynn Ave., will host a concert Saturday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. by the Highlands Fellowship County Venue Worship Band from Abingdon, Va.

Homecoming will be observed Sunday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. with special guest, J.J. Cox, the painting preacher, presenting the message.

Following the morning service, a catered meal will be served.

The pastor, the Rev. Bob Shupe, invites the public to attend.

Valley Forge

Christian

A series of revival services will begin Sunday at the Valley Forge Christian Church. The theme of the services is “A Festival of Great Preaching.”

Each service will feature a different preacher as well as special music.

Services Sunday will begin at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Services Monday through Wednesday will be at 7 p.m.

Unaka Baptist

Homecoming will be observed Sunday at Unaka Baptist Church with Pastor Ben Cole preaching and music by Greater Glory.

There will be no Sunday School with the song service beginning at 10:30 a.m.

An all you can eat fish fry will be held this evening in the church fellowship hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Chicken will be served also.

The cost is $10.

The public is invited to attend and enjoy the food and fellowship.

Roan Street

Free Will

The Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church will have a song service at 11 a.m. Sunday. Featured will be No Name But His.

The public is invited to attend.

First Free Will

Homecoming will be observed Sunday at First Free Will Baptist Church, Elizabethton.

Services will begin at 10:45 a.m. with special singing by Phillips & Banks.

Following the service lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.

Everyone is invited, especially former members and pastors.

Slagle’s Methodist

Homecoming will be held Sunday at Slagle’s Methodist Church, with preaching at 9:30 a.m. by Pastor Mike Berry. Special singing will be presented at 11 a.m. by Joel Crisp.

Dinner will be served following the morning service.

Slagle’s Methodist is located at 285 Old Watauga Road.

Union Hill

The Sunday evening service Oct. 20 at Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church will feature special singing by Amy Foster Duncan followed with a message by the Rev. Dan Foster.

The service will begin at 6 p.m.

On Sunday, Oct. 27, Phillips and Banks will present special singing at the evening service followed by a message by the Rev. Jacob Phillips. The service will begin at 6 p.m.

The public is invited to both services.

Riverside

Community Church

Mareisha Clarida from Mt. Olive Church, Johnson City, will minister in song and word at Riverside Community Church of Jesus this evening at 7 o’clock.

Upper Gap Creek

Gospel Grass, a Christian bluegrass group, will sing at Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church Sunday at the 11 a.m. service.

A love offering will be received.

Methodist

Teresa Bowers Parker will be guest speaker for the morning worship service Sunday at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton, when United Methodist Women will be celebrated. The service begins at 9:55 a.m.

Sunday School is at 11:20 a.m.

The 4:12 Jr. High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:12 to 5:25 p.m. and the Senior High Ministries will meet from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. The Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Also, Wednesday evening Life Lessons will be Wednesday at 6 p.m.

An Education Hour will be held at 9:45 a.m.
