As hard as it is to imagine, October has rolled around and local students have been enjoying their fall break by either choosing to lounge around the house and do things with their family or perhaps load up and take a last-minute dash to the beach.
For a lot of the locals, it appears that Dollywood has been a destination of choice based on social media postings that have been coming through over the last week or so and why not.
Dolly Parton’s Dollywood is only a short hour and a half drive from the Carter County area and at this time of year has a lot to offer those coming in to enjoy a little rest and relaxation from all the busy schedules they have had since school first began in August.
It’s also a great time for families in October as the annual Southern Gospel Jubilee is in full swing as well as the Great Pumpkin LumiNights through the end of the month with pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins to go along with great food and great entertainment.
This week, we wanted to give our readers an opportunity to enjoy some of what the park had to offer during the Fall Break getaway enjoyed by this writer and his family.
There is still plenty of time to go and enjoy the park for yourself and the Gospel Jubilee lasts through the end of October.
The best deal is a season pass so one can make a couple or so trips back to enjoy the Christmas shows and lights during Dollywood’s Christmas season that is just around the corner.
It gives you a discount off food and with a gold pass you don’t have to pay the $15 parking fee each time you go.
