Charles Edward Sells, 87, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, October, 29, 2019.
Charles was born and raised in Washington County, Tenn., and currently resided in Hampton, Tenn. He was the son of the late Homer and Pearl Sellers Sells.
Charles was well known for his carpentry and master cabinetry skills. His love for woodworking is exhibited throughout the Tri-Cities.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter and son, and sisters, Dorothy Kinzie and Ella Ruth Day.
He leaves behind to cherish in memory, his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Janice C. Sells; two daughters, Cathy Sells Milligan (Rick), Church Hill, Tenn., and Brenda Deyton, Hampton, Tenn.; one son, Jonathan Sells (Rae), Huntsville, Ala.; five grandchildren, Lora Milligan Vassallo Smith (Chris), Lindsey Milligan McMurray (Jason), Leslie Milligan Brock (Phillip), Zachary Deyton (Skylar), Ella and Charleigh Sells; 10 great-grandchildren, Max, Lola, Jacob, Samantha, Henry, Silas, Adyson, Avery, Amelia, and Ayla; three step-great-grandchildren, Hailee, Peyton, and Asher. Also surviving are one brother, William Henry Sells, Johnson City, Tenn.; a brother-in-law, Robert G. Day, Jonesborough, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice of Elizabethton, Tenn., for the excellent care they provided our loved one.
Charles’ wish was to be cremated.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 1, at 2 p.m. at The Rest of God Ministries, 223 County Hill Road, Blountville, TN 37617. Elder Doug Roberts will conduct the celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Charles to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Department, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of choice.
